Captain Michael
Captain Michael is licensed by the US Coast Guard as a Master Captain. Captain Michael and Chef Jenn are married. They found their passion working together operating private yachts for charter. Over the last eight years, they have amassed a big guest book with more than 70 charter weeks. Together they are a dynamic and inseparable team.
In addition to piloting Top Shelf, Captain Michael lives in the Seattle Washington area. Before being drawn to the sea, Captain Michael worked as an engineer on Wind Turbine Power Plants. This background helps him maintain Top Shelf to the highest marine standards.
Top Shelf operates six months during the summer in Hilton Head, providing day & night cruises for our guests. During the winter, Captain Michael & Chef Jenn will reposition Top Shelf to the Caribbean to provide our guests with unforgettable week-long charter experiences.
Chef Jenn
This is Chef Jenn’s first season in Hilton Head. Before joining Top Shelf, she worked with her husband, Captain Michael, aboard charter boats in the Caribbean.
After attending the world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, she began her career as a pastry chef in Seattle, Washington. She studies under several aspiring chefs before joining Captain Michael at sea.
Chef Jenn has freelanced on some of the largest mega-yachts globally but prefers to work in the more intimate setting of yachts under 100 feet. She is excited to have the opportunity to work in Hilton Head, designing menus with our cruisers’ input.
“I strive to offer a scratch galley with farm to table style. I put my heart into everything I do. I enjoy regional cuisine and challenge myself to learn the ways of local cultures.”
